My favorite part of playing in the band was never the solo part. I always like the middle parts. The parts that made the harmonies.

Soloists had way too much to lose. I was safe from ridicule and judgment in the second position.

In my opinion, second chair trombone is the coziest of all the chairs in the band, and therefore, the best chair.
